Structure

What is structure in bass fishing?

In bass fishing, structure refers to the physical characteristics of the water body — such as points, reefs and islands — that provide cover, shelter, or ambush points for bass.  This is opposed to cover, which refers to such “add-on” features as submerged logs, vegetation, and rocks. Both structure and cover attract and hold bass due to the availability of food and protection.
